If you’re reading this article, there’s every chance that you know all about the benefits of investing in a dedicated server and using it to start your own web hosting reseller business.
You know that, with the online economy continuing to grow, and with shared hosting plans serving as the backbone to a large portion of online businesses, there’s perhaps never been a better time than now to start a company for yourselves and meet the demand for quality, affordable hosting solutions.
You also know that it doesn’t necessarily require a massive investment of cash or resources. You’ve done your research, you’ve created a business plan and you’ve done your research, learning along the way that it often takes little more than creating your own sales website, buying a dedicated server housed by an existing web hosting company, and then getting out there and selling parts of it off to your customers.
What you may not know yet, is where to find the best deals on dedicated servers.
Fortunately for you, that’s where we come in. Today, we tasked the hosting experts at Discount Dedicated Servers on recommending their top dedicated server providers for hosting resellers.
Whilst most web hosting companies who sell dedicated servers gear their services towards individual businesses with high powered hosting needs, Austin, Texas based HostGator are one of the few who set out to cater almost exclusively to the web hosting reseller crowd.
Prices begin with a $105 per month package which includes 100 Mbps uplink, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB RAID-1 storage drives, 10 TB bandwidth and 2 dedicated IP addresses,a ll powered by an Intel Xeon Dual Core 2.3GHz processor.
At the top end of the scale, you can invest in an Intel Xeon Quad Core 3.3GHz powered, 8 thread processor with 1 Gbps uplink, 16GB RAM, 1,000 GB RAID-1 Drives. 25 TB Bandwidth and 5 Dedicated IPs for $225 per month.
Whilst these may not be the cheapest costs on the block, they do represent great value for money for hosting resellers, as they also come with free sales tools, WHM and WHMCS billing management systems, and ample free resources for your customers, such as domain names and drag-and-drop site builders.
Based in Auburn, Massachusetts, Webhostingbuzz frequently earn rave reviews for their dedicated server plans, which range from $119 per month all the way up to $459 per month.
Prices are competitive, but if there’s one reason why we’ve ranked them on this list, it’s because they offer one of the most flexible choices of packages among any of the companies we’ll mention today.
At last check, we counted no less than 16 dedicated server options, with some cheaper VPS-based models designed exclusively for resellers.
So far, we’ve given HostGator the nod for the tremendous support and number of tools they provide for resellers, and Webhostingbuzz points for the number of plans available, but neither company can quite compare with New York’s HostingSource.
Offering a number of plans to rival that of the aforementioned Webhostingbuzz, prices start from as little as $79 per month for an Intel i5, 4 core server with 8GB of RAM, 1TB of storage and 5TB of bandwidth.
At the top end of the scale, an Intel Xeon E5-2650 16 core multiple CPU server with a nice 256GB of RAM, 4TB storage and unlimited bandwidth is available for $499.
Last but not least, we’d be remiss if we didn’t give Bluehost at least a mention.
With dedicated servers starting from $74.99 and going up to $124.99 per month, prices are comparable to those offered by hosting source, and though you don’t quite get the same number of options as you do with the latter two companies, what you do get is Bluehost’s reputation as one of the most reliable hosting providers on the web, something you’re surely going to need if you’re going to provide your own reseller customers with the quality and performance they need.
